Question dead battery...dead keyless remote???

Hi -

I'm new to the forum, thanks to some recent car trouble. i have a 2001 saturn sl1 that recently had a leaky battery. the battery was completely dead, so i put a new battery in, but now the car is running and the keyless remote doesn't work. i got a new battery for it, but nothing helps. i even tried 'synchronizing' it and 'resetting' it like it says to do in the manual.

no luck. i'm worried i might have to drive an hour and a half to atlanta to have them fix it. any ideas? i read sometimes this is a fuse issue?

thanks.

Re: dead battery...dead keyless remote???

IIRC, for 2001 there is no access to programming mode unless you have a Tech2. a very nice GM/Saturn only scantool. you are going to need to go to a dealership i beleave, but if you are lucky maybe any GM dealership can do it. call a saturn dealership to confirm.
