Question what is the best place to buy a body kit

ok i am in the market for a body kit. i have tried ebay and the knock off body kits on there seem kinda cheap...i also know that from experience i have bought 2 kits off of there and both looked like crap. of course both were fiberglass also. i am looking for the best place i can get a body kit that the holes are pre drilled and the bumper is gel coated and not all rough and shit. price is also an issue i dont want to blow all of my re enlistment bonus on a body kit. what would be a good price for a buddy club front and side with a b.w. rear bumper for my 92 hatch. also what is a fair amount for shipping cause it seems that people want to cahrge around 200 to ship on ebay. i am also looking for metal z3 fenders for a 92 hatch also. i dont know if there is any difference between a 4 door or 3 door front end cause i see them advertised seperatley. any advice is appreciated.

There is a differnece between 2/3door and 4 door front ends.

92-95 2door and 3door (hatchs) had the same fenders, corner lamps, and front bumpers. 4 door's had different fenders, corner lamps, and rear bumpers. All had the same headlights, though if you get aftermarket 1-peice headlights (headlamp and corner lamp are 1-piece) they differ due to the fact they corner lamps is attached.

It's the oppiste with the rear bumpers. 2door and 4door's had the same rear bump and taillights, while hatchs had a different rear bumper and taillights.

Hand laid fiberglass kits will be smoother and less brittle than chopper gun kits, which are usually cheap knock off's. Typically, chopper gun fiberglass kits are cheaper because they cost less to make. However, they are wavy, brittle, more prone to cracking and a good number fit like crap.

Hand-laid fiberglass kits cost more but are higher qaulity. They arn't brittle and wavy like chopper gun kits. This makes them less prone to cracking by comparison.

Ground Designs, Bomex, Kaminari and Andy's Auto Sport are a few of the manufacturers who make hand-laid fiberglass kits. Wings west makes good urethane kits.

I know you can get metal z3's for $150 from a shop, which of course has no shipping. I have seen them cheaper online, but that's the cheapest shop price I know of. Don't buy from ebay, all people sell there is crap. If you buy from a site, buy from a reputable one.

Here are a few manufacturer websites.

I Purchsed My Black Widow Kit From Aerotrends.com I Paid 460 Shipped To Brooklyn Ny From Jacksonville Fla. Check The Website Or Call Them At 904-997-9905. If You Call Them It Is Cheaper Than On The Website, They Will Bargain With You. My Front Bumper Has The Ground Design Logo On It So I Think It Is Real, Not An Initation, Plus The Whole Kit Came Gel Coated And Was Hand Laid, The Fitment Was Perfect, I Had To No Modifications. My Friend Also Brought His Kit A Buddy Club Kit From Them For The Same Price.

Take some pictures of your front bumper. One from the side, one taken dead on with the camera about 5 inches from the ground, and one from the very top with the hood open. I'll tell you if its real or fake.

Re: what is the best place to buy a body kit

I bought my kit from extreme dimensions. Its a great fitment and prepping the f/glass wasn't bad at all..

Yea v8 man some guys do do that to their cars to make it look fast but you gotta give it up to the guys who do the shit right and actually know what they r doin..Besides v4,v6,v8 are in their own class..

Okay, this is a question about Body kits for a honda, and this question was asked in a Honda Exterior/Body Kit/Lighting forum. Why make the comment "don't get one?" It really doesn't serve a purpose at all. Not everyone has to like the same things, but the fact is honda's and bodykits are one of main focuses of this forum, as the sub-forum title implies. If someone doesn't like body mods or honda's, it would make sense to stay out of the forum that has to do with these 2 subjects.

well i have no problem with honda's or 'body mods' and im not going to argue with you. But the fact is body kits dont really seve a purpose at all either do they? but they are still made and one cannot drive down a street without seeing a car with one on.

I wasn't trying to argue, just making a point. This is a Honda exterior/bodykit/lighting forum, so what do you expect to see? As to whether they serve a purpose or not, that depends on what your goals.

The purpose of a body kit is to change to look of the body, and that's exactly what they do.

That being said, if you are building a car for shows they DO serve a purpose. You will not be competitive with a complete stock body on the show circut. If the purpose of the car is to enter shows, to be a show car, the body kit does serve a purpose.

Likewise, it your goal is to run a 12 second 1/4 mile or build a 300P car, a body kit does nothing to help you achive those goals.

Too often people just assume everyone has the same goals. That's one of my pet peeves. True, it can seem some people do mods for all the wrong reasons. Some people only do it to be "cool," others for who knows what reason. Some people however have a perfectly good reason for body kits, etc. The car is build for car shows. To say a body kit serves no purpose is wrong, especially if the car's purpose is to be a show car.

Re: what is the best place to buy a body kit

i dont really have a purpose for geting a body kit besides my car was involved in a front end collision with its previous owner a little over a year ago and i have an all black front end now on my blue hatch. i just want something that is a bit different more interesting than black fading plastic and metal. its also not about the functionality( don't know if thats a word) its about whatever makes me feel good and if its throwing on a fiberglass kit then shit i'll go for it, its about what makes me feel good not about what other people think.
