Ok, back from my very first offroad experience in the trooper, nothing major broke heheh (whew). My question is this, I can get a set (all 4) of bigger, more off-road minded tires and wheels cheap... the tires are 31x10.5 15's mounted on universal 6 bolt rims... is there any probs installing these onto my non-lifted trooper (cant check myself and see without buying them ), and if these are too huge, what is the biggest you trooper offroaders reccommend for the 87 model?

On my 1987 Trooper, I mounted up a set of 31 x 10.5 Cooper Discoverers with no problem at all. The truck was not lifted. I used a set of 8" Toyota steel wheels. I was happy with the wider wheel, the tires didn't have that "pinched in" look like they sometimes do when using a narrower wheel. The Trooper handled the bigger tires just fine and there was no rubbing on the body or any suspension component.
