buzzing at pcv hose
Hello. I have a 2000 blazer that has a buzzing sound created by the hose going to the pcv valve. I traced it down with a stethoscope and followed the hose to something on the intake manifold, (I'm not sure what this thing is called that the hose connects to). It's round, and has one other hose connected to it. I assume it's part of the emissions system.
Is this buzzing sound normal? I don't remember hearing it before. If not, what is the name of this thing that I've found on the intake, that connects to the pcv valve? Thanks! - Eric |

Re: buzzing at pcv hose
That buzzing noise is the PCV valve rattling as the crankcase vapour are coming up into the intake.
Normal.

hmmm
The buzzing isn't generated by the PCV, though. The stethoscope picked up the buzzing orginating from the fuel-pressure regulator, (finally figured out that the pcv connects to this), and then traveling to the pcv valve.
My question now is: does that mean that the fuel pressure regulator is failing? I haven't noticed any driveability problems, yet. - Eric |

Re: buzzing at pcv hose
PCV valve does not connect to the fuel pressure regulator.
