Noise Reduction with Hard Top
Hello to all S2000 owners!
I have an 01 Black S2000 and it's my daily driver. After 1 year of driving it i realized that at times I just need a nice and quiet ride going home. So my question is, how much noise reduction can I get if I were to buy a hard top? Is it even noticeable? Or any suggestions as to any other alternatives...like sound-deadening material on door panels? I love the car and I don't want to trade it in just because of the interior noise. So any suggestions besides "sell it and buy a Lexus" would be appreciated. Thanks!!!! |

Re: Noise Reduction with Hard Top
From what I have read the hardtop actually makes the ride louder. It traps all the noise from the engine, and as all of us S2K drivers know, a bumpy ride produces alot of jolts and bangs, which the hardtop seems to trap as well. i don't really know what to tell you for trying to get a quieter ride... i know I have been thinking about getting an older truck, probably the price you will pay for the hardtop, and driving that when I want something a little easier going and less loud.
Let us know how it turns out for you.
