Hi all just got this letter from VAG uk something about a [ bearing arm check ] ok first what part is it control arm ?.i,ve looked at the HAYNES manuel and can,t find it.second how pays for it .i have owned older cars then this passat and never had problems like this with any of them.has anyone taking they car for this check and can anyone explain what hell is going on http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ons/icon10.gif

Its the lower strut arm connected to the front hub.
Joint is prone to premature wear apparently.
I have just had mine checked following a chance call
to the dealer after buying the car from a non-franchise garage.
Guess what?
They need replacing. No surprise there really as if you have full
history VW pick up the bill.
The dealers not going to turn that down are they?
