Rim pick

Hi guys!

I need your opinion on this one because I simply can´t make up my mind. I´ve finally come up with an excuse to start a new project, even though I´m already working on 3. Anyway, the car is the Tamiya Porsche 911 carrera (I´m gonna make it a 996 C4), the paint will be either gloss black (TS-14) or very dark blue (TS-55 dark blue). The rims will be Alclad Chrome. Now to the question, what rims should I use;

The always good-looking Volk TE37´s (I know, the pic is a bit dark but you get the idea)

, the DTM-Supertourismo-O.Z.-like ones

or the Skyline-standard-R34 ones?

I will do my best to finish this one as quick as I can, and hopefully it will be done before 2005 (maybe in time to enter AFMOTY!). Therefor I´m not buying any extra stuff like rims or PE´s, I´ll have to go with what I have in store (wich is quite a lot...everything unbuilt offcourse).

Regards, Fredrik

Re: Rim pick

I like the Merc DTM wheels. They will look great in chrome on the dark blue. The Volks look OK but just don't seem right on a Porsche. Kurz

Re: Rim pick

Those aren't Volk's, TE37's have 6 spokes, those are Nismo lmgt's rims by RAYS.

I think the Nismo's look nice.

I'd go with the second set of wheels.

The Skyline wheels look a bit weird on this car. The Nismo's don't look too bad, but there is just something wrong about them on the car.

Re: Rim pick

the dtm's are the nicest, for some reason stock skyline rims only look good on skylines...it's crazy!

Offcourse! How could I mix èm up like that? Anyways, thanks for your opinions, I´m still not sure about wich ones to pick though. I do however have two more alternatives, but it would require some rim-surgery. Here are the other two rims, they are wide as hell and needs to be sawed.

This:

or this?

I think I like the first ones better than the second...

I like the second and third ones. But if you use the second ones paint them a differant color, like blue.

I agree 100% Skyline rims IMHO just don't look right on other cars.

On the 911 I think the first set of rims look the best.
