Jim Smith Chevrolet

I had a bad experience with this dealer with my '03 Chevy Trailblazer.

Now, I'll be fair and say, that it was a combination of my reactions to the ongoing problem, but also they didn't help either.

I had it for just about a year and a half. Since the beginning, I would go back to them every 2-3 months because the "Service Engine Soon" light would come on. They'd tell me it was the gas sensor sensed oxygen in the tank. Then they'd reset it, etc. Oh, resetting the "Change Oil" light is a pain to turn off.

After it would happen more then the 2nd time, I was asked how I was opening and closing the cap, etc. FINALLY, close to Memorial Day this year, they found the gas cap was FAULTY.

Did the apoligize for being condescending? Since I had suggested over and over it was the cap possibly? No. I had told the sales person I dealt with that I'd wait 2-3 months, see if the light returned to decide if I was going to trade this one for a newer Trailblazer.

This man had the nerve to contact me 3 days later, after I said I would call him in 2 months, to tell me that they offered a customer with just a bit less mileage than me $20k for a trade. I found him pushy.

That turned me off from that dealer. I asked for 2-3 months to decide, AND, I should be offered more for my vehicle since it had 17,000 miles on it due to all the hassles I went through.

After trading it in for another vehicle at a different dealership and make all together, I went to get my extended warranty money back. That took more than a month! ANd they were condescending then too.

I finally left a message for the dealership owner, and when he called me, I told him his place needs a complete overhaul before I'd ever go to them again.
