99 buick centry probs

there is 2codes in the computer that are shift silnoid stuck off thoes came up affter we had are new motor put in and now with them the last few days it sounds like it might have a vac leave and the pcv val is a pice of trash i never can find on that works right and fiting it not even from the dealer but the leak sounds like its comeing from the inktake manifold on the the pass side i dont knwo what it could be all i know is the has a lot of probs with this year model if anyone can help let em know thanks

If you think you have a vacuum leak there's a trick I learned from an old carburetor mechanic that might help you find it. Get a can of spray carb cleaner and with the engine idling, spray it around the intake manifold mounting surfaces, throttle body, and vacuum lines going to the intake manifold - anywhere there could be a leak. If you spray it on a leak the engine idle speed will increase. Then just fix it.
