putting an m50 into a 85' 318i

Hi I am a bit new to this forum thing so please forgive me if I don't do things perfectly. I intend to sell my 88 starion/conquest and buy a 318i at a local transmission shop. I have read alot about these cars and engine swaps and was wondering if an m50 would fit in a 85' 318i, what mods would need to be done such as fuel pump, wiring harness, exhaust fabrication, intake fabrication, radiator hose fabrication, etc. Also how much hp does an m50 put out, what size exhaust would it need(2 1/2?), and how much boost can it handle stock if I were to make a turbo kit for it. One more thing: are there any good aftermarket parts available for these cars at a decent price? (forged rods, pistons, cranks, head upgrade parts)

Thanks

Re: putting an m50 into a 85' 318i

that is an awful big question and i believe a big project!

first off, which M50 engine were you trying to place in this E30?

like i say alot, you can find a lot of parts at bmpdesign.com or bavauto.com however for this particular project you may want to consult with a bimmer tuning company like hartage or uuc motorworks among many others. . .

You can visit the above web to get some idea. M50 is used for 5 series. M52 can be used for 328i, 1994 model.
