removing factory stereo

2001 Tahoe LT, kids deposited quarters into cd player and now I must pull out and remove/fix/replace. Any tips on how to remove? Any special tools needed? Your input is appreciated!

Easy to do. First disconnect neg. terminal on the battery (always the safest thing when messing in the dash, etc). The trim ring around the dash simply snaps on and off. Well, you have to do some contortions with it, but it does come off fairly easily. Then to remove the radio, there are two tabs, one on each side, that you push down to release it and it slides out. The wiring harness is kinda tight so be a little careful, but you should be able to pull it out far enough to disconnect the harness and the antenna. Only thing is the theftlock, make sure there is either no code set or that you know what it is! Check your manual on that one. No tools needed except for a wrench to disconnect the battery.
