Interior Lights

I have a 1997 Chrysler Town and Country

The interior lights don't come on when I open the doors. Can anybody give me a place to start looking? Also the remote door locks on the keychain doesn't work. I am not sure if they are related.

check the interior light dimmer switch. If it is turned all the way down/off the lights wont come on. Also, have you checked your fuses? If the problem is only with one door, check the door open/close switch located in the door jam. As for you remote, could be the battery in the remote.

Re: Interior Lights

Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes and reconnect.

Re: Interior Lights

Ok, I am going to guess that the radio has been changed in this! This is a very common problem when someone changes the radio out. All of your interior lights and door locks and rear hatch button run through your stereo. First, do those things work if the ignition is turned on? If so then this is your problem and you need to buy the correct wiring adapter for your stereo and van. If not then I would agree with the above posts. Reply with any feedback from this!
