Talking Problem Solved!!!! Yes I Am A Dope!!

Silverado 2002 Hd, 8.1, Crew Cab , Long Box

I Posted My Issue About A Week Ago. Interminttent Rough Idle And Breaking Up Under Acceleration. Brought To Dealer, Flushed Out Fuel System And Changed Fuel Filter. Did Not Help. Brought Back To Dealer. Found A Plug Wire that Was Rubbing Against The Steering Shaft Clamp. It Only Grounded When The Steering Shaft Was In Was In That Exact Location. Also Grounded When The Engine Torqued Under Acceleration. The Best Part Is That The Dealer Wanted $180 For New Wires And 1 Hr Labor To Install ($85). Went To Parts Store Bought A Wire Set For $60 And Installed. All Is Good.

Cost for fuel system flush = $130
Cost for fuel filter change out = $60
Cost for allison flush, syntec fluid, screen and filter = $350
Cost for wires = $60
Cost of high test fuel, injection cleaners and dry gas = $100
Cost for having my truck back to par = priceless

So what have you learned.

1. If there is a problem take a look yourself.

Cost $0.00 + Your time.

Everybody at works always makes fun at me because I fix my own cars and change my oil. Well one guy got hit with over $1,500.00 in repairs. (replaced fuel pump). Now he ask me how to do things.

I do not get it these days people think working on cars is some kind of low life hobby. Hell I enjoy it more than anything.

People at work tell me how they just spent $1,000 for golf clubs. I asked so does golf cost a lot to play. They always tell me that it is a rick man sport and that is cost almost $5,000 to play/practict/clubs a year.

I tell them wow that is cheap. I spend about $25,000 a year on my jeep, I need to switch to this rich mans game.

Ok I am off my soap box.

Later.
