Anybody else ever have this problem?
The RSX w/ the cloth interior. Everytime I get out of my girl's RSX and shut the door. I get an electrical shock !!
is it b/c of these cloth seats? Anybody else encounter this and is annoyed w/ this?? |

shocking!!
It could also be becase something electrical isnt grounded properly...like a speaker. I had that same problem in my 99 civic. I had a lot of audio work done and had your problem. I would shut the car off, open the door, get out, and when I went to close the door...ZAP. I took it back to my install guy and found that an amp wasnt grounded properly so the electricity was flowing through the car.....

Hi, everybody. I have the exact same problem with my 2000 Civic. So does my friend's friend who has a '98 Civic. Every time I get out of my car, I EXPECT to get this HUGE shock!:flash: It's so common that I instinctively touch my arm to the door to get shocked there because it hurts less on the arm.
IT'S ANNOYING!!!!!!! My other car doesn't do this. It seems like a common problem with Hondas. I've never messed with the stereo or took anything apart so no wires or anything should be disconnected. Who else has this problem? Is there a fix for this? Although they look gay, would those ground straps hanging behind the car work? ANYBODY? |

A fairly common grounding problem
It's a grounding problem. It happened on my 88 civic until I resanded and reground the grounds on my amp. Just take off your grounds, rough up the body where it touches, and tighten it back down. Unless you've got a wiring problem somewhere else, that should fix it.
As soon as I got my 'teg, I checked all the grounds. I've subsequently never been zapped by it either |
