Supra compression results...
I have this supra that I'm thinking about getting for a couple of days, so I pulled her in the garage and did a quick compression test. I cranked it for about 15 seconds on each cylinder, and got something like this: 150-165-170-170-165-180. It seems like it's not terrible, but also seems like it's not as uniform as it ought to be. What do you all think?
Also, there is a lot of oil down in a couple of the plug wells, I imagine this is just from the valve covers leaking, right? Finally, there are two tubes coming up out of the valve covers and into a metal vacuum pipe that attaches to the throttle body. These two tubes are leaking a bunch of oil onto the top of the valve covers, and making a mess. I imagine it is just a couple of little hoses that need replacing, but is this the location where everyone talks about putting in an oil catch can? I know it's not part of the pcv system, but it's sure an oily hose... I appreciate any input you might have for me!! Thanks!

That 150, was that on number one? I know the Supra intake is a lot like the GTRs, and normally its number 6 that will show the most wear.
You can drive it like that, but it could use a little work, but I bet you already knew that. Can you give a little more detail about the engine?

Yeah, I figure it's not in tiptop shape, but it pulls strong, and feels really good to drive. I also just learned that I was do7ing the test wrong, so I'm going to retest next week or so when I put in new plugs and wires.
The motor is a USDM 1990 GTE with about 70K miles. It supposedly got a new HG with the swap, and a brand new turbo as well. The car itself is in immaculate shape, with all the power stuff working 100%, no dents, dings, etc., and the targa doesn't even leak! I hope that after I retest it I get some more consistent numbers. I'm also going to try running some fuel treatment thru there to hopefully burn up any carbon buildup that might be on there. In any case, I'll be putting in an MHG in the next few months, after I get my dp, exhaust, some gauges, etc, so I'll be able to have a good look at the inside of the motor.

the lowest is 150 and the highest is 180? wow.. thats 30psi apart! not good at all. but it's good for mk3
