Angry New Sierra Dead Battery

I have a 2004 Sierra (work truck) 3800 miles and the battery has gone dead twice now. The first time 100% no lights nothing, jumped it and checked voltage 14.00 volts charging fine.Dealer found nothing. This time I had lights but would not crank the motor, jumped voltage fine. Dealer again said nothing found. He showed me he GMC battery meter reading good. They told me that meter had to read bad in order to replace the battery.

OK..now this truck is not driven ever day it sometimes sits for a week or two. Dealer says that the new systems can drain in five days?

Can anyone help?
I ordered a solar charger to see if that helps.

I had the same problem with my '04 Sierra crew cab 1500. I ended up having the truck towed to the dealer with the dead battery. They checked it and sure enough the battery had a bad cell. GM must have gotten a few bad batteries. BTW, mine only 300 miles when the battery went. The alternator was working fine (14V) and the truck would run fine for 3-4 days (after a jump) then I would go out to start it and nothing. The dealer replaced the battery and I have not had any problems. If you can, just get the dealer to replace the battery.

A year ago I replaced 3 batteries and the alternator in my car (92 Park Avenue), later found out it was a simple electrical problem ($5 relay switch).

So it sounds like a dead (or frozen) battery cell, but if you're confident the battery is good, then look for a relay before you start swapping out more expensive parts.
