Exclamation anti-theft radio question

i unhooked my battery a couple of days ago and when i hooked it back up, my radio asked for the anti-theft code. well of course i didnt have it so i just left it until i could call the dealer. by the time i called the dealer, it would no longer let me enter the code. the dealer said set the key to accessory and wait 45 min. this didnt work, i also unhooked my batter again to see if it would reset, but no such luck. anybody else got any ideas?

Yo man you have to not just insert the key in you have to put it on second position or to leave the car on for 45 min, and you will be fine, ohh and radio should be on i think, dont remember exactly

I'm not sure. I got my car used and the evening before when I test drove it it was raining so I turned on the runnnig lights. Well my husband drove it back and he lef them on. He's one of those people that never turns on their lights until its really fuckin dark. So he left the lights on no one else noticed it and so of course the next day when I wen tto actually buy it the battery was dead. I got it from a subaru dealership and they had no idea about the code and the one in the book didn't work. so I called the mitsubishi dealership the next day and I wound up having to take it in and get it recoded and stuff. Pissed me off, cost $40 for it too.

Seems like dealerships are always trying to screw you out of more money.

Re: anti-theft radio question

I just got my '00 GT yesterday and am having the same problem, but when I turn the radio off and on it says "code" every time. The dealer I bought it from is supposed to get the code tomorrow.

your lights stayed on after you turned off your car? thats odd, unless mine is just special. you might wanna get that checked out. those lights (your driving, and misc. outside lights) should urn off automatically after you turn off your car. turning off your car with the remote will trn off the lights quicker.
