Pimp My Ride..Do they Fix UNDER the Hood??

Do they just put on all this expensive crap, then leave everything all f***** up?? If anything, Overhaulin is A SHOW. Pimp my rid is fun to watch, its got personality, but overhaulin ACTUALLY pimps the whole ride. Chip Foose in design-you could NEVER BEAT THAT.

Re: Pimp My Ride..Do they Fix UNDER the Hood??

My friend had his truck put on Pimp my Ride (his was the orange ford ranger, that they put the TV and stuff in the bed...

They didn't do anything to the engine, only interior, rims, and paint.

Up close, the work isnt even that impressive... looks great on camera tho *shrugs*

Well, it is called Pimp my ride...that and a race spec engine costs $$$$. I can imagine they still have a budget to stay under.

I want to know the time line, if you noticed in the whole first season, the same blue 4 Runner was on the indoor lift minus a rear rim.

Also on overhaulin', I want to see Chip Foose work, that Courtney is hot, but I'd rather watch a car show for cars, not her and that guy get each other of being "crank yankers."

Re: Pimp My Ride..Do they Fix UNDER the Hood??

My mom's boyfriend use to work at west coast customs. He has a picture of himself and shaq there. That's were shaq usually got his cars "pimped" We went the other day to get my stereo installed. The guys did it for free plus we got west coast custom t-shirts. I met Q (quinton), the black guy that plans everything for the pimp my ride show. He's a cool guy.

I remember when they overhauled the engine on the CRX (Only because it broke down on the way to WCC). I also remember when there was that EG8 Civic on there, they put a Cold air intake on it.

Re: Pimp My Ride..Do they Fix UNDER the Hood??

I'd just buy a $200 POS, get on the show, let them fix it up, get it back, part it out and sell everything for a very nice profit.

Re: Pimp My Ride..Do they Fix UNDER the Hood??

Any idea how much they went for?

I like the job they did on the 60's Mustang. Very nice paint job.

Overhaulin > PMR

only thing with overhaulin is that they do cars for rich people, who could afford it themselves, middle class and less fortunate people should be the target.

Re: Pimp My Ride..Do they Fix UNDER the Hood??

Last nights show was humorous, They filled a Baseball size rot hole in the roof with Bondo then installed 22" wheels and 14 flat screen monitors, French leather interior & a sink.....Once your into it for that much $ I don't think it would be asking too much to drop a rebuilt motor in at the same time.. The paint jobs come out very nice but its scary how much filler they use.

The paint could be very deceiving b/c anything can look good on camera. I still can't believe they actually said, "we're removing the block and installing new leaf springs to give you a better ride" What are they stupid. That doesnt give you any better of a ride and seeing how boucy that thing was when she drove it at the end. Not to mention the sag in the rear. And since when do any kind of off road tires actually TUCK under the fenders? I originally thought that the burban may actually turn out pretty cool, but yep once again they proved to me how stupid those idiots are.

However, Burple is a pretty sweet color.
