Oil in the reservoir tank

I have a 1999 carrera cabriolet with 33k miles on it. I've developed an oil sippage into my resorvior tank, the fluid is thick and resembles a milk shake (brown). Has anyone had this problem. If so, how did you resolve it.........I'm trying to avoid replacing the engine.

possible head gasket. you will have to due a compression test and a leak down test to figure out what is the problem. also check your oil cooler as coolant runs through it. these have been know to cause problems.

This just happened to my 98(996) 36k miles and is in a garage now and they think is the oil seperator. Is your fixed yet?

I Have Never Seen An Oil Seperator Mix Oil With Coolant! The Oil Cooler Is A Much Better Possibilty As There Is Actually Coolant In There. There Are No Coolant Passages In The Oil Seperator. Oil Seperator Usually Cause Vacuum Leaks And Excessive Oil Burning.

My car is being repaired. Thanks BUSA -4 for the tip.
They ran a pressure test on the oil cooler and determined that it had a leak causing the coolant to mix with the oil at 60psi.

Have them check the oil cooler first. Good Luck
