Where is the fusable link from the alternator on a 1996 neon?

I can't find it. The wire goes from the alternator to the computer and the computer to the fuse box then to the battery. The alternator isn't charging the battery and I've gone through 2 new alternators thinking they were bad, the last one the shop checked before I took it and it works..I'm thinking the link might be blown..The big wire on the alternator has power, so its hooked up. Would that still be the fusable link? my buddy said the computer is fried, but those are sooo expensive..Any help would be appreciated. by the way the battery was tested and its fine.
