friends oil change

i know this does not pertain to mitsubishis/lancers but bear with me

my friend just got an 04 TSX last december...he hasnt been able to drive it very much until just recently.
he is not passing the 6,000-6,000 mile mark. he is still on the same oil from then and is too lazy to pay 20 bucks for an oil change...
does anyone here think he is retarded for this????

Re: friends oil change

i always recommend changing your oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles. the filter is what you really need to worry about. check the oil and see what condition it is in. if it's black or smells burnt, loan him $20 and get the oil changed. it's either $20 now, or $4,000 later when he needs to get another engine. my $0.02.

cheers!

Re: friends oil change

if he is anything like my roomate last year...

dude, this guy was an ass. i put a stereo system in it for him, so he took my jeep for the day and i drove around his impreza. jeep to impreza means, have fun! i always told him he ran it like a walker but i took it out for maybe 15 minutes of joyous driving. when i got back there was a pinging noise (louder than it was before) i checked the oil and there WASN'T ANY! it was dry! the ass never checks the oil and it cost him $2500! wasn't my fault!
