Re: 2002 explorer valve spring break

seems my 2001 with 72,000 m has same problem...clean and ran great till last friday (July 1 2005! Been searching various forums for any recalls or recurring for other owners...not much luck yet!

I cancelled my extended warranty due to what i thought was an overcharge ($2400),,,now in hindsight= regrets...but they probably would have tried to disallow anyway!?

I have almost no comresssion on cylinder # 5...which affects 1 & 3 too...bad miss/dis at low RPM and idles....better around 60+ MPH and 4ooo RPM +...

Are you sure its valve spring...already broken down and confirmed? What were your symptoms?

they want $400 just to go confirm that is it!? At6 55000 m dont you still have factory warranty left?
