b16 running rich

i think my car is running really rich i jsut finish swaping in another b16 its running good but its smoking black and sometimes white. i was told that the black is burning gas and the white is coolant. my gas mpg SUCKS i burnt up a half a tank in about 4 hours of normal driving

what could be causing the problem i dont think its an o2 sensor cause theres no code for it....the only code its throwing is for the map sensor and its wont go anyway i dont kno why

if anyone has any info i would appreciate it a lot

i havnt been on the boards in a while but i got some new pics of my car up heres the link for those who remember me

updated pics

Thanks
-Chris-

Re: b16 running rich

Damn, he edited the sentence... BTW, nice progress with your car. I like the relocated key start feature and the old speaker lay out.

a tach measures engine speed, an air/fuel ratio gauge measures air/fuel ratio...

if it's running rich you may have a prob with your intake being clogged, maybe your map is screwed and its running in safe mode which is rich to keep the engine from goin POP!!!!!!!!!!...whenever your engine light is on you are running rich. check your throttlebody and the cold air valve underneath it as it may not be working correctly...

the old CRX SiR manual *.pdf file website would be real helpful if anyone has a link to it still, I lost mine...

k ill check that tomorrow

there is 4 things wrong with the swap
1 its running rich
2 it wont rev to 8200 it with redline at 7500
3 the map sensor
4 if im cruising at a steady RPM the tach will just start jumping like crazy but its not reving it will just jump to like 7-8-4-6 ect.
