Less NASCAR on Speed Channel

As some of you may know Speed Vision has now become Speed Channel and along with the name change they have changed their programming to be about 75% NASCAR!!

They feel a majority of people would like to see this type of coverage. Speed Vision was such a good mix:

Grand Am cup
SCCA club racing
Superbike
NHRA
WRC

The list goes on and on...

Please sign the petition online to show "Speed Channel" that we want LESS NASCAR!!

I just did. I used to like the Channel I got exposed to different things likethe motorcycle stuff but now ... uaghhhhh.

Yeah NASCAR sucks. But NASTRUCK is worse. "Hey man ya see dem trucks der goin round dat track. Ah hell man looka that hes gonna pass em! Oh shit! He passed em man! Only 47 more laps ta go."

I don't understand how anyone can watch NASCAR on TV, let alone go to the races. I'm sorry if anyone on this forum likes NASCAR, because to me it is about the most boring sport ever. Sure, the crashes are fun to watch, but you can see that on "You Gotta See This!" anyways. When I think of NASCAR, I think of mullets, Keystone Ice, chewing tobacco, poor hygeine(sp?), and a gunrack mounted in the cab of a Ford truck.

Its a sad state of society, when NASCAR has enough of a fanbase to support 75% of a channel's programming.

Very true.

Rally events are held almost year-round up and down the West Coast, right in most of our backyards.
No coverage, no massive crowds like in Europe.

I always liked the Car & Driver show...and HPTV...Nascar is lame day in and day out.

hehe, I signed this a couple days ago, number 4999. damn... 1 off from 5000.

The thing i really am starting to hate is the EXTENSIVE!!! coverage of the Swedish Rally... i've seen that show like 25 freaking times!

NASCAR - yeeharrrr!!! Just what we needed in this here country ..... more coverage of middle-aged, fat, ex-klansmen, stars-n-bars cereal-hucksters in stock (stock???) cars spinnin' around an asphalt toilet bowl !!!

We can only hope this extra coverage will be the nail in the coffin for NASCAR as people turn to other, REAL, motorsports (jet sprints, motoX, SCORE, etc) for entertainment.

Unlike most of you I actually like Nascar. But not 24 hours a day. I would suggest that instead of targeting the channel itself you should contact the sponsers. 5000 people complaining to a network won't change a thing. 5000 people complaining to their sponsers and directly affecting their earnings might.

i went to a freinds house to catch motorvison and what do i see the 2001 rockingham race i seen it once isnt that enough ?bad enough nascar avoids technology like the plague now i cant see anything new and cutting edge in the raceing world. now i have to put up with entertainment for those who drive sport utility vehicles and do other trendy things like the lemmings they are . as i write this i am watching the race at las vegas as it is the only form of motorsport on tv and i guess the only form in the world . did bernie eccelstone go broke? is there no more good raceing? remember the good old days when nascar was considered a sport for hicks to watch while sucking down cans of old millwakie?
