Track rods

Track rods:

I thought this information might be useful to others.

I have a 1987 Golf cab. and needed to replace the track rod ends. I had great difficulty getting the correct parts due to the lack of understanding on the part of the VW dealer.

The two track rods/ends are not the same. Both have a left and right option. This causes confusion and leads to the assumption that one part is suitable and that you simple need the left and right version, this mistake was made by more than one dealer.

The left and right options refer to whether the car is left or right hand drive. The drivers side consists of a separate track rod and track rod end. On the other side the track rod end is integral with the track rod
( Left - 191 419 803; Right - 191 419 804).
