96 cav overheating and no heat
i have a 96 cav. cavalier and my water pump went out a few weeks ago, so i replaced the water pump and the thermostat. i has been working okay for the past few weeks. i temperature has been lower then normal and now the car is overheating. i have tried putting in a different water pump, and i have tested the new thermostat. i flushed the system and the water seems to be able to move through everything okay, but the inside heater in the car does not blow warm air unless i rev the engine. I have been reading what other people have wrote, but it does not seem to have a blown head gasket. Does anyone have any ideas

Re: 96 cav overheating and no heat
Dex Cool death. Probably plugged up the heater core and radiator. I would attempt to back flush these two items to see what comes out. If you get a lot of red/brown gel, replacement may be in order.

Re: 96 cav overheating and no heat
I agree. Sounds like an issue of something being plugged.
