Re: glasspacks

A glasspack is a glasspack. They all pretty much do the same thing.

fastlane, the good thing about glasspacks is that theyre only like 25 bucks, so if you dont like it, you can toss it (or send it to me) and not be to set back.

Re: glasspacks

a glasspack is a long tubelike muffler but inside it the exhaust pipe is wrapped withe fiberglass, click the link and at the bottom of thier page is a diagram that explains it http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...FT/RedHot.html

Re: glasspacks

I see alot of old school cars running around with them on their cars... reason i dislike them is becuase there is a kid with a cavalier around here who has one improperly installed and he thinks its not... so every time i see it, it makes me sick. he has it hung where his muffler should be and there not even a tip on it.... I'll take my rice fart cannon over a glasspack anyday... talk to kustmace... he has a unique setup for his exhaust...

Re: glasspacks

glasspacks sound like hell, and they are a cheapass's way to make a car/truck loud. Don't bother with them.

Re: glasspacks

Any glasspack is about the same. The only difference is some may have louvered cores, others have perforated cores. The perforated cores are smoother inside, impede flow less. Glasspacks are more commonly used as resonators on 4 cylinder engines, to take out the raspiness of those "fart can" type mufflers people put on.

Re: glasspacks

I have one on my 92 and it sounded great at first, but after a year it's gotten 2-3 times louder! I don't like it anymore but it's still better than nothing.

Re: glasspacks

I have glasspacks on my truck and in my knowledge thats is where they should be left, on v8 cars and trucks. There is a kid back in my home town with dual exhaust with glasspacks on his 2.2 cavalier. Lets just say that a dildo vibrating on top of a table sounds 10 times better. but i do have some glasspack like tubes sitting here if you want to buy them.

Clappy, more or less and loud, but not like a smooth loud like that annoying give the dirty look as it drives by loud. on my truck it was so damn loud that i set car alarms off when i slammed on teh gas. but on a four bangger your looking at taking something smooth and making it loud farty and shitty. i wouldn't recomended it at all.
