Dude, with 106 MPH, you do not have 490 WHP!! I know that this is a calculation but, they are always with in 10-15HP.

http://www.supermotors.org/resources...ted_horsepower

Plug it in yourself,Even if your camaro weighes 2800 LBS, with a trap speed of 106 your car had approximently 260 HP. The link is up above will show you. In order for your car to make that kind of HP, your Camaro would have to weigh almost 5,000 Lbs.

You can't blame this on traction, Tractioin hardly affects your MPH, it will affect your ET. In fact, when you hook up, your MPH will drop usually

Re: Its always about traction

Z28's were TPI for that year. and all the way back to 87 i believe. not exactly sure right now. so its probly either a RS badged as a Z, or a Z that someone stole the engine out of and put a TBI one in its place.

No in 1988 TBI replaced carburated engines and was standard in Irocs until 1990 when TPI became standard.

Re: Its always about traction

Okay, I have to go with Hypsi87 on this one. No matter what car he has, IF he's putting down 490hp to the tires, and he's only running 106, I gotta call BS. I checked Hypsi87's link, and it gave me 307.61 hp. Probably correct if that is motor hp. I dyno at 28xhp/29xtq at the tires on a bone stock 99Z28. 1/8 mi traps are in the 81-82 range, and 1/4 traps are 102-103 range. Here's my cardomain link with proof pics at the bottom of first page. I know these aren't spectacular, but this is on a bone stock 104,000+ mile car. The times will start falling soon..

Re: Its always about traction

dude, TPI IROCs were first made in 87. every IROC i have ever seen and read about has been TPI, i dont think the TBI was offered on an IROC, unless maybe it was special ordered.

Re: Its always about traction

TPI irocs were first made in 1985 dude when they brought it to the fbodies. Just because TBI was standard doesnt mean people couldnt upgrade their cars to TPI. It wasnt until 1990 that the LB9 engine was a base engine for Irocs.

Re: Its always about traction

Thats right, as I said before TBI replaced carbs in 1988 and before that, the LG4 was the standard engine.
