steering rack

can i use a steering rack from a 86 civic in an 86 prelude are the measurements the same /help....

I would think that they are most likely different. The chasis are two different widths. I would say prob not.

ok, thanks. so ur saying that the bolt pattern would be different due to the chassis width.

The only racks that are the saem are the 83-87 prelude racks according to thhe part numbers.

i talked to a guy that said the accord used the same rack, is there any truth to that?
I would just find a prelude rack but i can't find any preludes 4 parts

I don't know if that is true or not I was just looking up the part numbers for the prelude and then I cross referenced them and they did not cross with any other cars. It might fit, but it was not the same rack. I have no way of finding out if it is interchangeable or not, sorry. Maybe you can take yours to the junkyard and compare it before you buy it or remove it.

rack

is the 88 prelude compatable i know honda changed a few thing, just wondering , parte 4 the 2nd gen are pretty few and far between up here

The 88s had 3 different racks depending on what the VIN is. I would say probably not, none of the 3 part numbers match or cross reference.
