electrode help

Ok, i ordered this electrode thingy for my bbq (a mini one that u put on the ground). so basically i have no idea how to power it, ut has one wire coming out of it. i want to battery power it (i'm guessing a 9volt) and have it activated when i press a button. any ideas?

Are you talking about the igniter? Push it and it sparks?
Or are you talking about some other " thingy"?
