Hey everyone. I've owned this escort for about 2 months, got a wicked deal on it, and the other night I had to change the serpintine belt, so I did that, then I was taking her out for a test run, and she died. So, we figured it was a problem with the fuel pump, replaced that, and it will crank, but not start most of the time. WHEN it does start, it idles relatively ok, but give her any gas pedal and it just starts stalling, like it's hurting for fuel. Checked the fuel pressure, it's fine. Checked all the vacume lines, they look ok. Checked all the fuel lines themselves, they're fine. Replaced the fuel filter. We traced it down to possibly a problem with the PCM... only problem is we can't find the bloody thing! I have a 91 escort 1.9 and its a little different set-up. So basically, if anyone knows where the PCM is on a 1996 Ford Escort 1.9 SEFI, it would be GREATLY appreciated to know! Or, if you have any input on the problem, that would also be great. THANKS in advanced.

Re: PCM Location!!!
How did you determine the PCM is the problem?

Re: PCM Location!!!
According to the Haynes 91-96 Escort book, the PCM is located under the instrument panel on the floor tunnel ahead of the floor console.
