 94 Taurus Tranny Problem
I have a 94 Taurus with the 3.8 and an AXOD trans. My problem is sometimes the tranny doesnt upshift from 1st to 2nd. The thing will rev to where ever i want it to. But sometimes it doesnt do this. what would cause this problem?

Re:  94 Taurus Tranny Problem
well, being a '94, you have an AXOD-E, not an AXOD. The problem is probably a simple but expensive to fix parts failure inside the transmission, either a band or a spring probably.

I would try changing the fluid and filter first on the tranny. A clogged filter will cause bad shifts. I like to try the simple ( and cheap ) fixes first.

Re:  94 Taurus Tranny Problem
if your transmission filter is so clogged that it won't shift, then driving it like that will kill your transmission anyway since nothing will get lubrication. Also, for a filter to get that clogged, lots of stuff would have to break off in the trans to clog it, which would also be a sign that this can't be fixed with a simple filter change.
