Re: popular question here
any 350 will pop in there.
Just search the net for the s10 350 swapping manual. It will guide you through the install. You will have to buy the guide but it does everything for you.

Re: popular question here
I've heard that if you buy one from a similar year truck a lot of the v6 wiring can be utilized. Plus in NY it's illegal to put an older engine in a car unless it's exempt (30+) years old. I've seen people put 383 strokers in astro vans, and they haul.
By the way, what about dropping in a twin turbo 350? -Now that would be sweet. |

Re: popular question here
i kno, we put a lt in my cousins 2.2l 89 s 10, when he totaled that we converted a 2 wheel drive blazer and changed it into 4 wheel drive, it took over 2 and a half hours in my uncles auto shop to get the moter hooked up (not including exhaust or wireing) so, i kno its not all bolt in fits together like it was made to be there, but the 4.3 will be easyer to work with seince the moter mounts are the same on the 4.3 and the small block 8;s

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...934472461&rd=1 I left the trans where it was and moved the 4.3 mounts forward with 5/16 plate. I also found those on ebay but you could do it yourself. I was short on time. The dr side plate holes did not line up and I welded the mount fixture to the plate and the plate to the frt cross member. I had to notch the assy to clearance the rag joint. The water pump pulley bolts are 1" from rad. Installed twin cooling fans from a dodge minvan in front of A/C cond. If you decide to move the engine back you will have to modify the drive shaft, firewall and move trans xmember. |
