Sounds like the bulbs you replaced them with were not the right kind.

Re: hd blinker relay"???
You want to go to your local parts store and purchase an electronic flasher. They are usually smoky clear plastic and you will be able to see the components inside. They flash independently of the current draw and are used in semi's and trailer towing vehicles and will plug right in.

I had to put a different flasher in my 91'. It was down by the fuses under the dash. it was a silver cylinder the one i replaced it with was twice as long.

Here is the picture of a Signal Stat #262. Not a good one but you can see what it is. It will plug right into where the existing one came from. |

Re: hd blinker relay"???
Dont know if you have the book for your truck but the relay on my '95 is behind the dash, meaning you have to take off part of the dash to get it out. Just make sure the new relay is for trailering and fits your truck.

Re: hd blinker relay"???
I am not in any way saying that you were wrong. I just know what I found at my local advance auto. Don't get to sensitive now.

I have a 97 with clear tails, Red LED tail lights i got at Auto Zone,
and i got a heavy duty flasher at Advance auto. the flasher was about 3 bucks after taxes. and its located behind the lighter plugs. I had the same problem w/ my flasher blowing until i got that one at Advance. |
