Re: hello all i got a big problem any one that knows car audio look at this
why would you run the 15 at 4 ohm? im so confused why people wire things themselves...that amp runs at 2 ohm stable and puts out WAY more power that way..(check ur spec sheet).

Here is a wiring chart. But if your running a 15" and a 12" off the same amp your results are going to be shitty at best. Diagrams

Rockford Fosgate Power T8002 2-Channel Amp $699.95
250W Power Series • 500W Bridged Mono / 800W @ 2 ohms if thats your amp then read the specs...500w bridged at 1 ohm and 800 @ 2 ohm...which is more? |

the 500! lol jk :P
2-ohms is generally the better setting on most amps

how do you have a 12" sub running at 1 ohm? who makes the sub? is it dual voice coil or single? and what resistance is the voice coil on the 12?
I don't know any manufacturer that makes a 1 ohm sub. I have been the business for 15 years. |

Re: hello all i got a big problem any one that knows car audio look at this
i agree, never heard of a 1ohm sub, most car subs run on 2 or 4ohms, house audio is 8ohms.

ok people let me school you a little whats 2 ohm plus 2 ohm = 1 ohm oh my god what good thing and no its a power 800.2 not the t800.2 and the t800.2 dose 1000 at 1 ohm i have a birth sheet on one right now and yeah 2 ohm is more power than 4 but the amp is only rated for 4 and i was only seein how 2 of the same model subs would do with each other

the only time i've heard people running something at one ohm it was when 2 2ohm speakers were paralell.
my infinity 1020W speaker is single coil. only runs at 4 ohms. it's actually ok for my applications. i've only got the single sub, and the amp's rms rating is 50W higher than the speaker's, but the amps peak is 100W lower than the speaker's. so i just make sure i don't turn it more than 3/4 of the way, and just listen. if it sounds rough, turn it down and readjust the eq. i saw someone on this board making custom fiberglass boxes for their speakers. oh man, i need to learn to do that. |

Re: hello all i got a big problem any one that knows car audio look at this
image dynamics has a dual voic coil sub w/ the voice coils being 2 ohms each. in series it'd be 4 ohms, but in parallel it'd be 1 ohm. that's the only way i can see having a "1 ohm sub"
correct me if i'm wrong, but r'nt most amps only stable at 4 ohms when bridged (mono)? i know that they can do 2 or 4 ohms when in stereo or only using one cannel, but not bridged. i had a zapco a while back that was 1,2,4 ohm stable in stereo, and 2,4 ohm stable bridged. but that was one hell of an expensive amp. that average amp isn't that capable is it? |

Re: hello all i got a big problem any one that knows car audio look at this
my first question is who in the hell run's a 12 and a 15 together??? on the same app?? not only that but mixing up the ohm loads differently like that could effect the amp.....and yes honda luvr is right about the ohm load of 4/5 which isn't very efficient on that type of amp.. a 2 ohm load is more stable but my main question is what subs?? because you have to remember that while your pushin wattage through to those subs the ohm load changes while receiving power and can differ depending on the wiring and the box design...............which in the end could do some damage to the amp...
