in dash light switch fried, please help

i have a '97 monte carlo LS and when i'd shut off my car it'd beep like my lights were on. so i took off my dash and pulled out the switch box and the beeping stopped. i seen that the chip was burnt out. i replaced it and it worked fine but two days later the same thing happened. i have no clue waht happened. i jsut installed a jensen cd player the other day then this happened, but im not sure if that has anything to do w/ it. whats goin on?

possible you wired either the memory or power line to the radio off the car lighting circuit?
