Arrow speedometer not working..help

hey i owna 93 240 witha black top SR20det and my speedometer doesnt work...i took it to a mechanic to check it out and he said that the speedometer is electrical...and that he needs to get some info on it...can anyone enlighten me...thanks

do you have a digital cluster? It could be that your speed sensor is worn out, or you got a bad connection from the ecu to the speedo, or you speedo is broke.

The speedometer on most nissans especiall RB and srs has a cable that plugs into the transmission. and you might want to check that.
since I own a 180sx here in japan and I have one I would assume yours does too.
ie mechanical

where would be a good place to pick up an SR's speedo gear...or sensor

ha ha, i have the same problem, i have analog gauges, the speedo is ether at like 110 or 0 weird, i tried hitting it and it worked for like 5 minutes or so, but yeah i think its just something simple, its been broke for like 3 months and i think im going to keep it that way, i got pulled over the other day and i just told the cop my speedo all of a sudden broke and he let me go, apperently i was doing like 80 in a 65, im getting reverse gauges soon so maybe ill look at it then, but for now it dosent bother me to much.
