Exhaust system and catbacks

Are these two the same thing?
I go to website for greddy and other systems and it says catback exhaust system...
Are exhaust system mostly catbacks?
And if I get a full catback do I need to get a muffler? or is the muffler included in the full catback set?

Also what company is recommended? I've looked at Greddy, Skunk2, and Magnaflow. I don't know any other...

Thanks

Re: Exhaust system and catbacks

A catback exhuast is exactly as it sounds. Its everything from the catalytic converter back. That includes pipe, muffler, and tailpipe.

The other other real upgrades you can do is an exhaust header (if they make one for your car) and you can replace the original cat with an aftermarket high flow version.

Ok I'm trying to figure out which one to get.
Greddy Evo2 catback system or the Apexi N1 catback exhaust.
I know that the greddy is full catback system but I don't know if the Apexi N1 is a full catback system or not...
All the pictures that I've seen are just the back exhaust. I haven't seen front pipes. Do I need to get the front pipes for the N1?
Which one's better?

Re: Exhaust system and catbacks

you cant replace the cat if you get a catback tho becuase there all welded together (much less you wouldnt want to neway becuase its already a high flow)

I dont get what you're saying.
I was asking if the Apexi is full system or just the one piece muffler...

Do you mean the Universal mufflers?
So Apexi n1 is full catback.
Thanks!

What's the difference between Full Catback and Axle back on a celica?
To me it looks the same on the celica...

When I got to Greddy website and see how it looks like. It has a 3 piece straight pipe design... Which I think it goes from the cat to all the way to the exhaust.
But when see magnaflow and some other catbacks, it looks like a < shape.... Which I think it's axle back...

I'm confused...
