abs light on 99 taurus se
after driving 10-15 minutes on the highway the abs light comes on. no other symptons and brakes work as before. any ideas on what is causing this?
anyone have a good solution for front brake disc wobble? i have been advised to use raybestos brand, replace rotor, invest in a torque wrench for the lug nuts to avoid ovetorquing and warping rotor. anyone else have this problem and solve it already? |

I think with the Raybestos brand pads that you will have better performance but at the same time, they are harder pads and will wear more on the rotors. To rid your wobble, you need to have the rotors "Turned" ($15 each?). That will make tham flat again. If there are enough miles on them they will have to be replaced for about $30 each?.

Re: abs light on 99 taurus se
The J.C. in my town has an auto technician course. They turn rotors/drums for $1 ea.

i have a friend that had dirt and grit collected around the sensor that detects wheel rotation and it was causing the abs light to come on. its worth a look!
