Speedometer- 2002 Town & Country

I went to start my 2002 Town & Country van this morning and apparently the battery died. It finally started one time so I drove to Autozone to get the battery replaced. On my way there I noticed that my speedometer wasn't working. When I looked closer, I noticed that the pin had actually turned all the way past the 120 mph mark and was now up against the peg stuck. I had the battery replaced but the speedometer pin is still on the wrong side of the peg. All other pins (temperature, fuel, and rpms) still work and I have no other electrical problems and no other lights have come on....

you can try to run the cluster diags, maybe that will straighten it out .
igniton switch off, depress the trip odometer reset button unti "Sof" and a number (software version #) appears in the odometer window then release the button. If a fault code is present the cluster will display when done in the odometer display . when done the cluster will display "end" in the display . Do this procedure and see if this helps , if not you probably have to make a trip to the dealer to have them reset it with a ODB II scantool . let us know if it helps at all . Makes you long for the old days when you didn't have everything run by computer , I think in some ways in autos we have made a giant step backwards with certain functions by sticking them thru a computer .

Wink Re: Speedometer- 2002 Town & Country

This worked for me on my 2003 T&C. The auto detailing place let my lights on & my battery went dead. Once we jumped it, the points on my speedometer and tachometer were stuck behind the knubs. Couldn't find anything on AllData to help, so I came here. Thanks for the help. Good piece of info to have...Jeannie

I know this thread is old, but excellent information.

I followed vipergg's advice, and worked like a charm.

Thank you.
