Re: Supra engine!?!?!?

Why? For the amount of money and modding it would take why not build a turboed H22?

Re: Supra engine!?!?!?

i dunno I am very partial to the supra. i just like it but cant afford to buy one used let alone ship one overseas. so i can build the next best thing, but after looking at a supra engine it's vertical and i dont think u can drop a vertical engine into a horizontal bay ( correct if i am wrong )

The money you spend trying to do that you may as well buy a supra. It will take some time, mods and Cash flow

You'd have to extend your engine bay (or move your firewall back a whole foot). The prelude's bay isn't long enough for a longitudinally mounted motor. To tell you the truth, after all the custom work is done, it would probably have costed the same as buying an actual Supra.

I have a better idea. Buy some petroleum and a Flux capacitor for your lude. I think they have a banana peal upgrade. You can use garbage to power your time traveling lude.

Re: Supra engine!?!?!?

FWD+2JZ= Retarded
Either cram the engine in sideways, or push the firewall back and convert to RWD. either way is gonna be expensive...youll end spending as much as a supra would cost and if u like how the supra looks then just buy one

Re: Supra engine!?!?!?

ok i dont know if u guys have about 26,000 for a used one or maybe even better yet around 55,000 for a brand spankin' new one. but i sure dont. if i CAN in any plausible way put a supra engine in it could be a long procedure and for my wallet that would work out best.

Re: Supra engine!?!?!?

hey 93/01alaLUDE u need to do some research before you start talking again. there r brand spankin new ones, go on the gallery here and type in supra theres pix or go to google and type in 2005 supra. if u knew anything about supras u would know that they were not imported from japan from 97 to now. if u would like i can give u the http of a site where u can see them for yourself

Re: Supra engine!?!?!?

Everyone who's first getting into the automotive hobby has this idea. "Hey, I can't afford this turbo engine, so why don't I just swap it!" In theory, it's an excellent idea. The 2JZGTE puts out 320 ponies of twin turbocharged inline six power, whew. Imagine that beauty inside a Prelude.

In practice, this is not practical. You'll pretty much need new everything. And I mean literally everything. Just to give you even a hint at how time consuming and arduous this idea really is, let is take for example an NA Supra. Pretty damn close, right? A 2JZGTE should theoretically just bolt right in and be go go. The only thing these two have in common is the motor mounts. And the fact that the weaker NA tranny "can" bolt in, but this is not recommended, at all.

Let's not start on a Prelude swap...

All Supras were made in Japan. There were two distinct factories, one in Tanaka, and I forget where the other one was.
