No heat

I have a 2000 Blazer and the heat is not working like it use to. I put a new termostat in and it helped a little. Would just flushing out the radiator and the heater core help? The blazer has 119,000 mile on it and I have never flushed the radiator. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: No heat

Absolutely. Since it has never been done, you might even consider taking it into a garage and have a power flush done. If you do it yourself you might disconnect both heater hoses at the fire wall and "powerflush" the heater core with a garden hose. Good luck!

Thanks Rick....I thought that was what I was going to have to do. I just wanted to make sure there was not some kind of sensor that I didn't know about. I have flushed many a heater cores out with a garden hose.

Re: No heat

Yip, go to a shop and have a good shop based reverse flush done on the whole system.

I did and man, the cooling system has been mint for 2 years after now.

Also, replace your rad cap with a good NON ACDELCO variety cap. The GM cap is flawed.
