Re: how to get into the 10's

You have a very long way to go to run 10s. What size is "big" for those injectors? WTF is a stage 2 turbo? Odds are your pump is too small, but no size is given. 60 foots are a huge part of low ETs, what is your suspension tire setup? That 2G mas of yours is gonna have to go. You can certainly get it there, but trust me, its not easy! Its mostly in the little things. I cant keep motors together, and it seems it may all come down to the deck height and piston to head clearance. Go figure. I'm going to post this info in a bit in the performance section. Its a long hard road But I think right now the motor may be the last of your concerns unless its a 7 bolt.

Re: how to get into the 10's

10's is a gutted 1g, or a lot of money/expertise. One aspect is having the power, which a 50 trim (right?) doesn't make. Then, you need traction. The turbo is where all of your power comes from. A 50 trim flows 40-50lbs/min, and a 10 second turbo is at least 60lbs/min for a gutted race car. Here in Colorado, we have 65lb/min turbos running mid 11's at insane mph's. That is, no traction... but the power is there.

If 95 GSXracer is almost hitting 10's with a 75lb/min turbo, it must be a lot harder than the fast DSM guys make it seem.

Re: how to get into the 10's

i believe its a kit that contains what hes mentioned, just the rods are shorter and the cams and the other parts are adapted for the increase in volume. effectively making your engine bigger(hence the increase in 2.0-2.4stroker) just a way to increase ure engine capacity without getting a whole new one. just using the space thats there.

Re: how to get into the 10's

stoker kit increases the displacement. from what i understand the 4g63 crankshaft has a stoke of 88mm, and the 4g64 a 100mm stroke. by using the 4g64 crank it will increes displacement to 2.3L. in this case .02 bore has been done.

a basic kit is nothing more then a ballanced crank, pistons/rings, rods, and in some kits main barrings.

its main purpose is to increese lowend tourque, substauntly reduce turbo lag, and increase the amount of air you can push by upto 15% 50lb/min anybody? i dont know all that much about them, im in the infent stage of building a 2.3l 6 bolt.

He's in the 12s I believe. Time to get into the 11s, then start dreaming about 10s (or go on the bottle )
