lights dim-HELP!

hi,
i am a total newbie bout cars, please if anyone cud help me out here

my 95 galant's, dash light and other interior lights kept dimming whenever i stepped on the brakes, and came back to normal when i accelerated. At a point when it dimmed, the cd player stopped too.

I had recently got my alternator changed too, but since then some belt keeps squeaking when i stop and accelerate. I dont know if this cud be teh cause of the lights dimming too.

I took it to get my battery tested, and the guy said it is fine. I then asked him to check my alternator, He ran a load test, when the squaking sound came on, and said he feels theres a short somewhere.. have no idea what that means either...

did anyone have this problem, or knows what could be wrong with it.. please reply!!

this is epi that squikeey noise in your belt is caused by your belt not bieng tight enough ,and the dimming, if you have the stock cd player take it off i have a 2000 galant my lights woulddim so i bought a jvc cd and all my car light got brighter make sure you buy the adapter wire for your radio dont cut any wires to hook up your cd player these cars ar electrical sensitves
