Bad Throwout bearing??

I was thinking of buy this 1991 eclipse and this guy bought it from the original owner to resell and it has 145000 on it. he thinks the clutch has never been replaced so when we were backing up it grinded hard going in reverse. Also when we were driving and let off the throttle it made a weird feel and noise it only happened when you let off the throttle the noise was kind of hard to describe but i was wandering if it could possibly the throwout bearing going bad too. so if anyone has had this problem please let me know the possibilities of what it may be. thanks brenden

Re: Bad Throwout bearing??

If it needs a clutch, the TOB is going ot be replaced anyway. The noise/feeling when you let off is probably a bad motor mount. They arent that much money, and are easy to replace. In fact a good time to relace a motor mount is when you are doing a clutch swap Impossible to know for sure what it is over the internet with a 1 or 2 line description, but I wouldnt worry about it if the price is right.
