caprice confusion

Hello everyone , currently i dont own a caprice but i am looking to buy one . of cours i would like a later model but i have financial limitations. I am new to the caprice world but very interested. I like the look of the older 80's caprice but my concern is whether there are any performance parts available for them? also what is hp on these (80's) cars and how much more can you get without making any major engine mods? If there arent any performance parts available at what year do they become available ? please feel free to give as much info as possible as i said i am very new to this and very eager to learn as much as possible, thanks

Re: caprice confusion

Any SBC will bolt right in. The power ratings weren't all that great (150-175).

Re: caprice confusion

the power was pretty weak as tommy stated

but

a good build and ya can hang with just about any fast ride out there

remember the chevy engines are the most affordable engines to make powerfull so for about between 1000/2000 you can have a pimpin engine if ya have any knowledge of how to build em or having it built by others add on some labor
