Should a jetta ISV make a clicking noise

only? I have heard that it should "click" when the valve opens and closes but it should also "hum". Mine only clicks when you apply or remove a charge to it. No humming.

Re: Should a jetta ISV make a clicking noise

I think reference to humming is bascally that when the engine is running it opens & closes at a prescribed frequency or duty cycle. If it opens & closed when voltage is applied & isn't physically clogged or jamming then it should be okay.
