Well Dork (never been able to say that to too many people)
Front wheel drive isn't that bad. Everybody up north will like that. I'm sure everything will be beefed up to handle the motor. You don't think GM would leave you short, do you?

Re: OK, save your money. And buy this.

You know the GTP comes 2 and 4 doors. That one was a 4 door. I have two 2 doors. And I have to say, the four door is better all around. Do you ever have to hit your breaks hard. On the 2 door the front seat, the back comes forward and it's a pain.
Still it's going to be fast.

hardly de-tuned

New for 2005, the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP features an aluminum 5.3-liter V8 engine that generates an estimated 290 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque, with 90 percent of the motor’s twist accessible between 1,500 and 5,200 rpm. The engine also features Displacement on Demand (DOD), a fuel-saving technology that shuts off four of the eight cylinders under low power loads, such as when cruising on the highway at a steady rate of speed. Pontiac says DOD can improve fuel economy by about 12 percent. Good thing, since the Grand Prix GXP requires premium unleaded fuel.

Re: OK, save your money. And buy this.

Remember when I was complaining about the GTO being rear-wheel drive? I think the 2005 GP GTX just might be the answer to my prayers! V-8 and FWD!
From somebody up north.

Re: OK, save your money. And buy this.

I know your not old enogh to remember Cadilac had a motor. It had what they called 8-6-4. When you gave it the gas, 8 cyl. Going down the street at 50, 6cyl. Out on the highway, you got it, 4cyl. They took it out. Was a junk. More troubles then anyother motor in Cadillac history. You don't see the troubles coming out of DOD? Good luck.

Re: OK, save your money. And buy this.

Ahh, kustomkid54, you are so wise. I didn't see that one coming! More complexity, more things to go wrong. But hubby says that was years ago with the cadillac engine, and they got it all figured out now with the Hemi, so there should be no problems! Think positive! Any idea how much a 2005 GXP will cost?

Sure I do; http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/ponti..._overview.html
Tell your husband. I know they will have troubles with it. I won't buy for 2 years. By then they will work it out.
