Battery slowly losing charge.....................

1989 3.9 4WD
Originally battery was not charging while driving (only when sitting still).
I changed the alternator. Seemed to work for 36 hours or so. Now battery is not charging again. It seems there is something pulling current from the battery. When I touch one of the cables to the terminal there is an extremely small spark, which tells me there is something draining the battery.
My question is --- what is the easiest and most reliable way to find what is drawing the power out of my battery.
Thanks for any replies I get. Winter is approaching.
