yup, I read that and a few others about the same thing. Seems to only be their valves though, never heard anything bad about any other products they make.

Re: Bad things about skunk2

I don't care if it's a valve or a shift knob. I want to know when I buy a faulty product, it will be replaced. My beef isn't that the valve was faulty, (that could happen to any company) but that they did nothing to replace the damage, or even the valve.

Re: Bad things about skunk2

yeah but you have to see it from the companies side of things. The company is going to have to think about some things. 1 - was it our product faulty was too weak and caused damage. 2 - was it installed by someone who didn't know how to install our product corretly. 3 - Was this damage caused from abuse by the owner. There is no way to know if it was truly their fault or the consumers fault. If every company gave in and didn't question the possibilities and just automatically gave refunds, then there'd be a lot of bankrupt and closed businesses. I'm not saying I agree with the way things work (I don't he should have been compensated for the damage), but you have to think about it from a business standpoint.

Re: Bad things about skunk2

just thought id ad that i just got the dec issue of import tuner with the last part of the b series shoot out. skunk2 had an engine in the contest with all skunk2 valve components and port job and guess who's motor blew at 8000 rpm??? ouch. i think they need to go back and do some r&d. they did make 253hp before it blew, but key word is IT BLEW. in case your wondering R&D dyno won the contest with 283.3hp at 9200 with supertech valve components and crower cams. i think im gettin some supertech shit!!

Re: Bad things about skunk2

Even worse, they blew the origanal motor the day before. Then they were given a new b18c to test on Dyno day and guess what, blew it too. I've been following the shoot out since the first issue.

guess I was wrong then... skunk2 are assholes. Clearly it's a problem that even they know about. That's too bad, but I'd still buy their cams

Re: Bad things about skunk2

I wont lie, if you would have asked me last week, I would have said that skunk2 is one of the best companies out there for honda, but this week... There could be more to the story than we know, but from the link and what I read in Import Tunner, I'll go elsewhere.

JDM nutt...

you know that after reading this article and seeing the reactions from people, i don't think i will be using any of skunk2's product at all. i put too much time and mone y into my car to watch it go. especially the internals. i am now anti skunk2

Re: Bad things about skunk2

Glad I read this, I was trying to decide who to buy cams and valvetrain parts from. Now I can knock Skunk2 off my list. Thanks guys.

BTW, anyone had bad experiences with their intake manifolds? Not a lot to go wrong there...

Re: Bad things about skunk2

i know the problem was with the valves and nothing else (that we know of) but i wont buy any internals that are skunk2. Intake Manifold should be fine, its the exact same as the type-r IM.

Re: Bad things about skunk2

Again, they might make great intake manifolds and camshafts. I understand every large company is prone to a bad part slipping through, what concerns me is what they do about it. If I get a part that's faulty, (shift knob, racing pedals, whatever) I want to know the company that made it, will fix it.....fISH
